Kiedy praktyki się zmieniają? Krytyczna analiza koncepcji i mechanizmów zmiany i dynamiki społecznej w teorii praktyk społecznych Shove, Pantzara i Watsona oraz Schatzkiego

Teoria praktyk społecznych tzw. drugiej fali centralnym przedmiotem swych rozważań uczyniła dynamikę świata społecznego. Choć jest ona sceptyczna wobec wszelkich teorii wyróżniających w świecie społecznym osobne poziomy, ujmuje go i jego dynamikę jako proces rozgrywający się kilkoma różnymi ścieżkami. Jest to dynamika w czterech obszarach: (1) relacji między elementami praktyki, (2) relacji między praktykami, (3) relacji praktyki z aktorem ludzkim oraz (4) relacji praktyki z innymi zjawiskami. Prace odwołujące się do teorii praktyk najczęściej posługują się uproszczoną lub skróconą listą ww. ścieżek, podczas gdy dokładniejsza lektura prac twórców teorii pozwala wyróżnić dla każdej z nich szereg mechanizmów, za których pośrednictwem praktyki się zmieniają, oraz uwarunkowań ich występowania. W tym tekście rekonstruuję obecne w pracach Schatzkiego oraz Shove, Pantzara i Watsona mechanizmy zmiany społecznej. Następnie wyprowadzam z nich hipotezy dotyczące tego, jakie cechy tych relacji sprzyjają trwałej lub stopniowej ewolucji praktyki bądź temu, aby praktyka zanikała albo ulegała radykalnemu przeobrażeniu. Wskazuję też ograniczenia i słabości konceptualizowania zmiany społecznej w teoriach praktyk społecznych.
